This is a Noir-style animation I wrote, directed, and animated, during the Carona Virus lock down. The film industry was completely on hold. So to use the free time I was given, in a productive manner; I chose to bring to life a comic strip I had made several years prior.

Rain Man Lake
This is a Noir-style animation I wrote, directed, and animated, during the Carona Virus lock down. The film industry was completely on hold. So to use the free time I was given, in a productive manner; I chose to bring to life a comic strip I had made several years prior.
The story is about a private investigator who's childhood imaginary friend reappears after 40 years. The P. I., a hardened adult now, feels there is no room in his life for childish fantasies. So he decides to kill the creature and with it any remaining part of him that is childlike/naive/innocent.
The title comes from the 1988 film 'Rain Man' directed by Barry Levinson. In the film Charlie Babbit (played by Tom Cruise) remembers an imaginary friend when he was younger called "Rain Man" who actually turns out to be a fractured memory of his unknown savant brother, Raymond (played by Dustin Hoffman). The idea for the original comic strip - that this piece is based - came to me whilst watching this movie, and so I wanted to incorporate something into the narrative, thus making the lake where our story unfolds named -- "Rain Man Lake".

Iron Man
I am always trying to acquire new skills. This is an attempt to take one of my 2D illustrations and give it the illusion of being 3D using After Effects. I come from a traditional background, and all of my illustration work on this site are digitally painted and not modelled in 3D.
