Why do college football players have all of those stickers on their helmets?

I’m a huge football fan, but I never really played college ball nor did I attend a major university with a popular team. How do the players earn those stickers?

Some teams will use them some will not. I have heard of some schools College and High school giving out the stickers for starting a game. Each one will be different and it is tough to tell what they are for. I have seen some schools that have different stickers that meant differnt things. On the other hand some schools will have the same sticker and award for there goals. I do know that at Georgia they have white dog bones for good plays and the Black ones are for academics.

theyre decals. on offense, u sometimes get them for cut blocks or scoring TDs, etc. on defense, u can get them for gettin a sack, pick, etc.

some teams dont even give them out. those that do either give one type of decal, like a picture of a bone lets say, for all achievements. others, typically in highschool, give out different decals for each side of the ball, say, a skull and crossbone for defense, and a football for offense.
