Although I hate to say it, I think Bob Stoops would be the best coach.

He lost his starting QB, offensive lineman, and his Heisman Candidate running back, but they still win.

I love Mack for what he’s done to the Horns, but I have a hard time calling him the best coach. He might be the best overall CEO of coaching, surrounding himself with great people, but for the love of God, he needs to take away play calling duties from Greg Davis.

Pete Carrol by far. Nobody is hating on Texas, look what Pete has done in the last 4 years.
2 National titles, played for a 3rd. I believe this is a homer question and you are going to pick someone who agrees w/you.
But Pete has a better resume.,,,,,I changed my mind whoever the Kansas St coach is, just moved ahead of Mack Brown on my List.

Hands down Jim Tressel. Just watch him coach. His demeanor is always so calm and collected. He’s a real classy guy and a great coach. He has really brought OSU back to a power house football team since he took over.

there are a lot of great coaches out there, but to be considered the best, your record probably has to prove it. with that said, i would say pete carroll of USC. currently, he has the highest winning percentage of any active head coach.

Best coach ever is Tom Osborn he did it the right way.

Current best coach is Bobby Bowden even though he doesn’t do alot of coaching now he is mainly a recuter but the kids love him.

There’s a good case for Mack Brown, but overall in terms of longevity, consistency, and winning year in and year out, I’d have to go with either Pete Carroll or Jim Tressel.

No doubt Tom Osborne is the best coach that ever was. The best acting coach now is Bill Callahan and he just keeps getting better every year.
