By next football season I am going to be 25 years old. I finally have the money and time to go to college. I would like to play college football, but I don’t want to be the very old guy on the team. So is 25 to old to play college football?

i know a few teams that have players as old as you, um…..lets see….Texas has a WR who’s 25, Rice has a WR who’s 26, and i think Chris Wienkie a QB for Florida St. a couple of years ago was 27 when he graduated. so i think your ok.

No such thing. There have been a number of 35 + year olds that have played college football. South Carolina had a 39 year old player in 2004, a 59 year old played at Div. III Sul Ross State last year. If it’s your dream to play college football, go for it. As long as you have eligiblity you’re never too old.

No. Historically BYU has a number of guys in their twenties playing football. They are Mormons who went on their missions in their late teens and early twenties and are now in college playing ball. Who cares how old you are if you can knock guy on his butt, or catch a pass, or throw one?

You’re never too old if you’re good enough to play and have eligibility.

I read an article last year about a guy that was 59 years old that went back to school and fulfilled a lifelong dream by playing college football at Sul Ross State, a Div. III school. Inspiring story.

Chris Weinke was QB for the Florida State Seminoles when he was 29.

If you really want to play, don’t give up. Don’t let age stop you. Best of luck with your goals and aspirations.

No such thing as too old. NFL players, depending on position, retire in the 30-40 range. (Depending on position.:))

Vince Papalli started playing for the Philadelphia Eagles at the age of 30 and you’re talking about College Football? You’re not too old.

There have been several men over 25 playing college football and I believe there are a few currently active. Often older men offer leadership ability that the younger men do not possess.
