I never played high school football. I am very athletic 510 170 lbs very quick and strong. Would college coaches even consider me? I was home schooled and never had the opportunity to play. I play back yard ball all the time-I know its completely different but I know i can run and catch. There has got to be a place for someone with want to and heart and ability. Do I stand a chance??

If you have the chance, sign up for a football camp so you can learn the terminology and figure out if there’s anything that you’re exceptional at. There are lots of smaller schools, D-II, D-III, NAIA that have teams that rely primarily on walk-ons, so there are opportunities there. That being said, the time commitment to play college football is huge, and to make the leap from not having played is going to be drastic. I don’t know what your ambitions are, but it might be good to take that first year of college, play intramurals, see if you can be dominant at that level, then contact the coaching staff to say you’re interested in trying out for the following year, and see what they’d like you to do.

D1 and D2 have athletic scholarships but most lilkly would not offer money for someone that did not play in high school. D3 is academic scholarships only. A bit more of a chacne but you would still need to demonstrate your athletic ability and have the grades to qualify. NAIA has a seperat set of rules. Junior College is propably the route to take. Even if you were allowed to walk on at one of the other levels, you would probably not get a chacne to play. At JC you would have a much better chance to play and who knows what happens from there.
